book-club's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rules

Here are the rules of book-club. PLEASE READ THEM! (Rules based on rules from the sisterhood).

MEMBERSHIP RULES

You must have a DiaryLand diary and have joined the diary-ring!

Inform Naridu, if you will be unable to participate for a length of time exceeding one month.

Only Naridu or Sootica, or someone acting under their direct orders, is allowed to alter these rules in any way. Even if its just a spelling error - ask first!

Please do NOT start fights and/or arguments with other members. This includes: no senseless arguments, no nasty remarks, and no name-calling etc. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion - we're here to discuss, NOT to shove our own opinion down other's throats.

In the event of a disagreement breaking out: if it is by mistake, please act maturely and try to solve it as peacefully as possible. If you are unable to do so then dont make a big issue out of it, bring it to Naridu and she will try to sort it out fairly and without discrimination.

If however ANYONE starts arguments/fights on purpose you will first be given a warning because we believe in second chances. Then it is up to you to apologize if you have offended or hurt anyone and to clean up your act and start fresh. However if you continue disruptive behaviour after 3 warnings, we will have to ask you to leave the Sisterhood.

DIARY RULES

Deleting entries IS NOT ALLOWED UNLESS you are on the Moderator Council (currently, the Moderator Council consists of Naridu).

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES give non members the book-club password! And please don't even ask if you could because if we make an exception for one person we'll have to make exceptions for everyone. Anyway, if they want to contribute so bad, they may as well join! ;)

ONLY Naridu  are authorized to change the password, and all members will be notified as soon as possible if such a change is made.

Do NOT change the registered e-mail address for the site.

You can add an entry as follows:
1. log into the diary (if you don't have the password, ask Naridu)
2. click 'add an entry'
3. type in your entry
4. in the "short description" area, you can type one of a few different things: (a) just your name... (b) your name in some sort of colour... (c) your name and a link to your diary next to it (saying "my diary" or "visit me" or something like that...
5. click submit (only once!)

ALL entries must be related to the current literature we are reading. You must bring something to the table, a link, an experience, a question, something for everyone to see or participate in. This will keep the diary from becoming clogged with unrelated things. This rule will be STRICTLY enforced. While you may want to tell us how bad school sucks, or how wonderful your boyfriend is, do it in YOUR diary.

If what you're posting can be said in two or less emails/guestbook messages (i.e. Hey Sarah, I totally agree with those posting guidelines! Hey Gemma, I totally agree with those comments) don't put it in the diary.

There's no need to post daily; don't write a post apologizing for lack of posting. We hope you'll have something to post about fairly often, but we're not going to throw you out if it's been a week since you last had something good to say.

Posts should, overall, bring something to the table. Whether it's a link or your opinion on a debate that somebody brought up, add something! A good rule of thumb is this: if we don't know who you are and your post will still be interesting to me, then you've got something worth posting.

DISREGARD OF ANY OF THE RULES MAY RESULT IN EXPULSION FROM BOOK-CLUB.
